How to Become a Central Midfielder
Central soccer midfielders like Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas and Michael Essien are the three most dangerous well-respected central midfielders in the world.
If you want to become a central midfielder like Cesc Fabregas, Michael Essien and Steve Gerrard, you need to work very hard. You cannot be overweight if you want to play as a central midfielder because you won’t be able to play the central role. Central midfielders who gain enough weight do not play maximum soccer properly. Chasing players on the field for the ball becomes a problem if you are overweight. You need to lose weight. This will give you a chance to avoid looking like a football player. Remember soccer is different from football.
Workout very well and make sure you can run for minutes without getting tired. Running improves your ability to play as Michael Essien, Cesc Fabregas and Steven Gerrard. These three footballers are the best central midfielders in the world right now and if you watch the English Premier League you will notice they are quality and superb midfielders. To be able to play like them, you need to be able to play at least 90 minutes of soccer running in the center of a soccer field and delivering passes to attackers or central forwards. Running is important if you want to become a central midfielder.
Be able to play physical soccer. Your job as a central midfielder will be carried out mainly in the center of the soccer pitch and even though you will be offensive as a central midfielder, you will likely remain solely defensive. You cannot become defensive without remaining physical and that is how Michael Essien plays football. Steven Gerard is highly offensive as Cesc Fabregas but both players have different abilities. To be fair, if you aren’t really physical, then becoming a central midfielder is probably not a position you should think of becoming. You will suffer in the midfield if you aren’t too strong physically. Lift weights and you will build some muscles like Michael Essien or Steven Gerrard. This will help you to become a great central midfielder.
