Tips
- Using the wrong tactics could cause your team to lose decisive games they should be winning. Excellent coaches play 4-5-1 at the right time. You should only play a 4-5-1 when your team is playing a weak side for 90 minutes on a field. Essentially, you cannot afford to leave big spaces in formations you devise when playing a home match against a very strong team that has enough potent strikers who can score from long range shots or free kicks.
- Setup a serious 4-5-1 soccer formation by putting a center forward upfront and leaving 5 strong midfielders in the middle of it. Of course, 4 defenders will back 5 excellent midfielders you leave in the midfield of the formation. A solid 4-5-1 needs to have 3 defensive midfielders in the middle in order to have 2 central or attacking midfielders to cover the flanks. Normally, 4-5-1 soccer formations are used by coaches to hold matches in defensive moods so that they end up in draws. However, they can backfire if weak teams fail to play them defensively as well as strategically.
