How to Perform Percentage Calculations

Performing simple percentage calculations should be done without a calculator. If you are supposed to solve pharmacological problems without using a calculator, you will have to rely on cardinal math skills in order to avoid errors. Percentages can be reduced to decimal numbers and effectively rounded to produce whole numbers too. Here are some good tips on how to perform some easy percentage calculations.

  • When a numerical figure is inscribed like 45%, it can also be written as forty five percent. Percentages are not the same as fractions and ratios. If 45.5% had to be rounded, the percentage would generate a whole figure of exactly 46%.
  • Now, if you had to convert 0.9 to a percentage, you would have to make sure that you wholly change the decimal number.
  • Understand that 0.9 is in a decimal format. Therefore, changing it into a percentage will give you this answer. All you have to do is move the decimal point to the right direction.
